Practical answers to the questions that come up before, during, and after a new-home purchase.
How do I compare national and local home builders?
Compare repeatable floor plans and community systems with the flexibility of a smaller builder. Neither business size nor name recognition tells you what is included in the specific home.
Builder incentives and negotiationsWhat is a temporary mortgage buydown?
It reduces the buyer's initial payment for a defined period under the loan arrangement. The later payment can be higher even if the note rate is fixed.
Independent inspectionsDoes a brand-new home need an inspection?
New construction can have incomplete, damaged, or incorrectly installed items. An independent inspection provides another review within its defined scope.
